About Our Club

Millard Rotary is one of 45 Rotary Clubs in District 5650. We are an organization of professional and business leaders committed to vocational excellence and humanitarian service.

OUR HISTORY:  Millard Rotary is an organization of professional and business leaders. Millard Rotary was Chartered on May 21, 1979 with 25 members. Currently at 68 members, we are one of 45 Rotary Clubs in District 5650. Many members enjoy the business contacts they make though our Club. All members enjoy providing exceptional community service in an environment filled with fun and successful people from all walks of life. We do strive to have fun providing humanitarian service both locally and around the world. We encourage high ethical standards in all vocations as we help build goodwill and peace in our local communities and internationally.

OUR LOCAL SERVICE: Since 1981, Omaha-Millard Rotary has provided significant funding for educational and vocational scholarships to Millard High School seniors. In addition, we have participated in and/or sponsored:

   Omaha Cox Classic as Marshals

Sand in the City (winning the Peoples Choice Award in 2006)

   Golf tournament fund raiser

Helped the Friends of the Public Library Book sale for Literacy project

   Salvation Army Bell ringing

   Christmas tree recycling

   Bike trail marking project

Charter club for Boy Scout Troupe 282

   Support of Food Pantry programs.

With this short sampling, you can see we have a lot of fun projects that help a lot of people locally.

OUR SERVICE TO THE WORLD: The Club supports international youth exchange students both here and abroad. This year we sponsored two students to Japan. Our members also support numerous far-reaching projects through the Rotary Foundation.

Rotarians have led the worldwide campaign to eradicate polio through immunizations in developing countries. They sponsor other health clinics, nutrition and development projects on four continents. Rotarians will continue to strive to promote international understanding through educational and humanitarian projects. Specifically this year, for example, we supplied funding to drill a clean water well in Afghanistan.

THE NEXT STEP IS YOURS: We would love to have you consider becoming a member of Millard Rotary. If you have interest on how you can help us make our world a better place to live, if you have interest in how we can make a difference in our own community and, if you have an interest in meeting fun and successful people, please contact us and we will get you started.
